Most Valuable Promotions and PFL Merge to Create New Global Combat Sports Powerhouse

In a monumental development that is set to reshape the combat sports landscape, Most Valuable Promotions (MVP) and the Professional Fighters League (PFL) have officially announced a landmark merger to create a new global combat sports platform powerhouse.
The strategic consolidation, unveiled on July 30, 2026, brings together world-class boxing, mixed martial arts, live events, athlete development, and worldwide content distribution under a single, fighter-first organization. The combined company will operate under the MVP banner, accelerating MVP's expansion into MMA following the record-setting success of its inaugural MMA event.
A New Era of Leadership
The newly formed entity will be led by PFL CEO John Martin, who will serve as Chief Executive Officer and board member. Co-founders Jake Paul and Nakisa Bidarian will also serve as board members, continuing to play active leadership roles across the business. Bidarian will oversee MVP's boxing verticals and blockbuster live events, while Paul will leverage his massive platform and cultural influence to drive audience growth and fan engagement.
"We started MVP to disrupt a broken model," Paul stated. "Joining forces with PFL accelerates that vision by a decade. We now have a scaled platform to give today's fans what they want: elite talent mixed with culture, lifestyle, and massive social velocity."
Official Press Release
PFL Official Announcement:
Most Valuable Promotions and the Professional Fighters League have announced a merger that will operate under the MVP banner, bringing together world-class boxing, MMA, live events, athlete development, and worldwide content distribution under one fighter-first organization.
Unprecedented Scale and Global Reach
The merger unites a roster of nearly 400 elite athletes, including world champions and title contenders across both boxing and MMA. PFL brings its elite MMA fighter roster, global league operations, and media assets, which will form the foundation of "MVP MMA" as the migration is completed in the coming months.
Financial backing for the new entity is provided by founding investors 885 Capital and Knighthead Capital Management, ensuring the combined company launches with the strongest balance sheet in its history. The organization will maintain relationships with leading media and distribution partners, including Netflix, ESPN, Sky Sports, and an extensive international network reaching fans in more than 170 countries.
The Road Ahead
Martin emphasized that the goal is to fully transition the PFL brand to MVP MMA by January 1, 2027, with an aggressive search already underway for a new U.S. broadcast partner to launch the rebranded MMA division in 2027. All existing PFL titleholders will maintain their championship status through the rebrand, with the "MVP World Champion" designation symbolizing the pinnacle of the sport.
As the combat sports world digests this paradigm shift, the merger represents a direct challenge to the established hierarchy of mixed martial arts, promising a more equitable, highly visible, and culturally relevant future for fighters and fans alike.
