Shoppers Drug Mart has officially launched a comprehensive, nationwide beauty recycling program in partnership with TerraCycle. Customers can now drop off empty cosmetic containers, skincare tubes, and fragrance bottles at dedicated bins in all 1,300 Canadian store locations.

The beauty industry generates massive amounts of complex plastic waste; this program ensures that even the most difficult-to-recycle pumps and tubes are diverted from landfills and repurposed.

As an incentive, customers who recycle five empty products will receive a 15% discount on their next beauty purchase. The collected materials will be cleaned, melted, and transformed into durable goods like park benches and shipping pallets, significantly reducing the environmental footprint of Canadian beauty consumption.
