In a heroic act that has captured the nation's attention, 35-year-old Jordan Salinas has spoken out after confronting a gunman during a deadly shooting rampage at an In-N-Out Burger restaurant in Twin Falls, Idaho.

The chaotic incident occurred on Saturday, August 1, 2026, when 24-year-old Chad Williams opened fire outside the restaurant, killing three people and injuring seven others. Salinas, who was in the drive-thru at the time, was captured on video returning fire against the armed assailant.

According to Twin Falls Police Chief Matthew Hicks, Salinas retrieved a suppressed pistol from his vehicle and engaged the shooter, helping to drive the suspect from the scene. Alongside an off-duty Idaho state trooper, Salinas's actions are credited with preventing further casualties during what Hicks described as "one of the most chaotic instances a law enforcement officer could face in their career."

"We believe these actions drove the suspect from the scene and prevented further casualties," Hicks stated during a Sunday news conference, praising both the off-duty officer and the private citizen for their decisive intervention.
